Actress Kalsoume Sinare appointed Ghana’s ambassador to Spain
Ghanaian film star and producer Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe has been named Ghana’s new ambassador to Spain, a fresh look at diplomacy through the lens of entertainment.
President John Dramani Mahama announced her appointment on June 21, 2025, as part of 15 new diplomatic nominations.
The appointees include ambassadors, high commissioners, and a consul-general, all set to deepen Ghana’s international presence.
The actress, a household name throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, is celebrated for her roles in ‘Out of Sight, Crossfire, Ties That Bind, and Trinity.’
She’s earned multiple accolades, including honours at the Ghana Movie Awards and the Golden Movie Awards Africa, recognizing her enduring impact on the arts.
Her educational credentials—covering theater, public service, and international relations—complement her extensive experience.
With a diploma in Theatre Arts and degrees in Public Service & Governance and International Relations & Diplomacy from the University of Ghana and GIMPA, she brings both creative flair and institutional knowledge to her new post.
