Rapper Edem condemns misuse of public funds

Ghanaian rapper Edem has publicly criticized government officials implicated in recent high-profile corruption scandals, questioning the relevance of their formal education in light of their actions.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on June 16, 2025, the rapper expressed frustration over the continuous misuse of public funds by educated leaders.
“You people go attend all the school in the world but not have the brains to figure out how to multiply money but only steal… So, what is the school for?” he posted.
His comments come in the wake of ongoing reports about financial irregularities within public institutions.
A recent audit of the National Service Scheme, for example, uncovered tens of thousands of fictitious names on the payroll, irregularities estimated to cost the state millions each month.
