Ghana sets emergency exit strategy for nationals in Israel as conflict rises

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has approved an emergency evacuation plan for Ghanaians living in Israel, which will be activated once the necessary conditions are met.
This was revealed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, through his Facebook page.
He noted that Ghana’s embassy in Israel has identified 922 Ghanaian nationals currently residing in the country, of whom 65 are students studying at six Israeli universities.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has approved an emergency evacuation plan for Israel, which will be promptly activated when conditions are met,” he stated.
Mr. Ablakwa also indicated that the government is working to ensure all Ghanaians in Israel have access to bomb shelters amid rising tensions in the region.
“We are ensuring that all Ghanaians living in Israel have access to bomb shelters,” he said.
He emphasized the government’s commitment to providing full protection and support to citizens affected by the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict.
Mr. Ablakwa further stated that channels for regular communication with Ghanaians have been established.
He added that no Ghanaian fatalities or injuries have been recorded, noting that the evacuation from Iran is proceeding successfully.
