Trump mobile debuts $47.45 plan, $499 phone

The Trump Organization has officially announced its entry into the telecommunications market with the launch of a new wireless service, Trump Mobile, and a USD499 Android smartphone branded the T1, set to hit the market in September 2025.

The new mobile venture, prominently featured on TrumpMobile.com, offers a USD47.45-per-month service plan dubbed ‘The 47 Plan.’ The package includes unlimited talk, text, and data, along with roadside assistance, telehealth and pharmacy benefits, and access to what the company claims is nationwide carrier-level coverage.

The plan’s name and price are steeped in symbolism. Donald Trump was the 45th president of the United States during his first term and is currently serving as the 47th, a detail that is not lost in the product’s branding. The company’s promotional material is filled with patriotic imagery, including the ‘Make America Great Again’ slogan and a gold-toned smartphone etched with an American flag.

Though marketed under the Trump brand, a disclaimer at the bottom of the Trump Mobile website states that the products are offered through a licensing agreement, and are “not designed, developed, manufactured, distributed or sold by The Trump Organization or any of their respective affiliates or principals.” This mirrors previous Trump-branded product ventures, such as watches, sneakers, cologne, and even a special-edition Bible — all of which have raised ethical questions while yielding significant profits.

In fact, President Trump reported earning over USD8 million in 2024 alone from a variety of licensing agreements, according to federal disclosures.

The T1 smartphone will run on Android 15 and comes equipped with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, 12GB RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 50-megapixel rear camera. It also features a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, aiming to compete in the mid-premium smartphone category. The device, like the service plan, prominently features Trump campaign branding.

Despite the patriotic flair, the USD47.45 monthly plan is more expensive than some of the more competitive offerings on the market. For example, Visible by Verizon offers a similar unlimited plan at USD25 per month, while Mint Mobile provides a 12-month unlimited plan for USD30 per month.

Trump Mobile’s website assures users that its plan offers “the same coverage as the 3 nationwide phone service carriers,” and that it uses a U.S.-based customer service center. However, a customer service representative reached by NBC News on Monday declined to disclose the location of the call center, citing security reasons. Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile, the three dominant wireless carriers in the U.S., have yet to publicly comment on Trump Mobile’s network claims or any affiliation.
