June 6 declared public holiday

The Ministry of the Interior has declared Thursday, June 6, 2025, a statutory public holiday to mark the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha, one of the most important festivals on the Islamic calendar.
In a statement, the ministry announced that the day should be observed across the country with due solemnity and reverence befitting the occasion.
Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command. The festival is observed by Muslims globally with special prayers, acts of charity, and the ritual sacrifice of animals—typically goats, sheep, or cattle—to symbolize faith and devotion.
The ministry urged the general public, especially the Muslim community, to observe the holiday peacefully and in a manner that reflects the spirit of unity and devotion the occasion represents.
All businesses, public institutions, and members of the general public are expected to take note of the declaration and comply accordingly.
The ministry also extended its warm wishes to the Muslim community for a blessed and meaningful Eid celebration.
