AGI to host renewable Energy Expo Today

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) will today, May 22, host a conference on renewable and energy efficiency, aimed at exploring policy actions for affordable energy in the country.

That is to reduce operational cost, increase productivity, encourage investment, and enhance competitiveness, with its attendant effects on economic growth and affordable local produce.

The conference, being organised under the auspices of the Association’s Energy Service Centre (ESC), would be held at the Accra International Conference Centre, spiced with business-to-business (B2B) exhibition.

Participation in the Expo is free and open to all commercial and industrial businesses, energy professionals, policymakers and private individuals interested in sustainable energy projects.

In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday, the AGI noted that there would also be a special forum on upskilling in the private sector as well as investment opportunities and innovative solutions in the green energy space.

The conference is expected to be graced by the Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability, Mr Issifu Seidu, and the Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, Madam Simone Giger.

The Expo would be patronised by key players from the commercial and industrial sectors and policy actors, to discuss the theme: “Powering Ghana’s Industry through Sustainable Energy.”

Mr Seth Twum-Akwaboah, the Chief Executive Officer, AGI, said the event would showcase innovative technologies, financing options, and best practices that could help businesses reduce energy costs and improve operational efficiency.

He noted that the B2B Expo was a response to the growing demand for sustainable and affordable energy solutions in Ghana’s private sector.

It would be a unique platform for businesses to explore cost-saving energy solutions, build strategic partnerships, and engage with project developers, consultants, and financiers. “The event underscores AGI-ESC’s commitment to promoting Ghana’s energy transition and supporting industries in adopting cleaner, more efficient technologies,” Mr Twum-Akwaboah was quoted as saying, while encouraging stakeholders to patronise.
