Black Queens to engage Ivory Coast in friendly ahead of WAFCON 2025

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra

The Black Queens of Ghana will face Ivory Coast in a two away international friendly matches scheduled for May 30 and June 3, 2025.

Led by head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, the Ghanaian women’s national team continues preparations for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nation (WAFCON) in Morocco.

These friendlies are expected to provide the team with valuable match experience as they build momentum toward the continental tournament.

Since March, the Black Queens have been engaged in a series of international games aimed at fine-tuning their squad ahead of WAFCON.

The upcoming encounters with Ivory Coast form part of this preparation strategy.

The squad for the matches will be announced in the coming days.

Bjorkegren, the Black Queens’ Swedish trainer, had already engaged the team in a 9-day campaign exercise earlier this month. The Black Queens have been drawn in Group C of the upcoming tournament, alongside holders South Africa, Tanzania and Mali.
