Partey names Essien as player he would have loved as a teammate

Arsenal star Thomas Partey has disclosed the player he would have loved to play alongside with at he national team or even at club level.
The Ghana international is having a good season with the Gunners, having helped the team reach the semi-finals of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League before suffering elimination at the hands of Paris Saint Germain.
Partey missed the first leg in London but his return to the squad could not stop PSG from advancing at the expense of the English giants.
Meanwhile, during a quick-fire questions and answers session with The Footy Culture, Partey shared his admiration for former Chelsea midfielder Michael Essien.
“Michael Essien,” he answered when asked which former player he would have loved to play with.
The 31-year-old tried to convinced Essien to return to national team football before he retired in 2021.
“I spoke to him few times ago to come back to the Black Stars but it is too late now,” he added.
Partey’s contract at Arsenal is set to run out at the end of June and he is expected to extend his stay at the London club.
