Liverpool Manager heaps praise on Kudus after West Ham clash

Liverpool manager, Arne Slot has extolled Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus for his performance against his side for West Ham United at Anfield.
Although, Kudus did not score or assist, the West Ham star caused the Reds a lot of problems as they almost left Liverpool with a point. Liverpool had opened the scoring through Luis Diaz in the first half but an improved performance in the second half saw the Hammers level through an own goal from Andy Robertson.
However, a late header from Virgil Van Dijk secured victory for the Premier League leaders.
“These two quality players, and they have more, but I think [Lucas] Paqueta and [Mohammed] Kudus were outstanding today, especially in the second half,” said Slot after the game.
“Maybe because we were 1-0 up and we conceded one or two chances, it led to a situation where we were a bit too afraid or didn’t press hard enough anymore. It’s them taking more and more risk, bringing a lot of players into the midfield and they still had their threat in these runs with [Aaron] Wan-Bissaka, [Jarrod] Bowen and all the others. It was a bit of both.
“Definitely credit to West Ham as well but you don’t only see this here “I see this every game that I watch.” Kudus has been in decent form this season, scoring three Premier League goals and adding two assists in 26 matches.
