Black Queens Beat Senegal in International Friendly in Dakar

Ghana kept their preparation for the 2025 Women’s African Cup of Nations on course with a 1-0 win over Senegal on Saturday, 5 April 2025 in an international friendly.
The Black Queens scored the only goal on 24 minutes when Evelyn Badu prodded home a cross from the left side.
Coach Kim Lars Björkegren’s led onto that lead to unalive their hosts despite playing the last 27 minutes with ten-men. In the 63rd minute, Anasthesia Achiaa was expulsed from the game after picking up a second yellow.
Ghana are on a nine-day training camp in Senegal and have lined up two friendly matches against the Teranga Lioness.
“We knew before the game is it was a tough game for us, tough away game. We knew that Senegal can be physical. I felt the start was pretty good. I would say the first, like 30 minutes, we also scored the goal,
beautiful one, I think, and exactly how we want to play with the perfect cross. And Evelyn came from the number 10 position with a great header, something she we started the game pretty well,” said coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren after the game.
“I felt in the end of the first half that we were coming in a little bit to the physical style with more stops, more like the Senegal way to play in this game. So, we actually talked about it in halftime that we needed
to play football on the ground, play a little bit faster again, but we didn’t.
“So early on in the second half, we had the red card, and from that time, it’s a completely different game.”
The next game will be played on Tuesday, 8 April 2025
