DVLA’s 24-Hour Service at Adenta Delivers Strong Results

The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, has disclosed that the 24-hour operational system being piloted at the Adenta DVLA office is yielding impressive outcomes, particularly in efficiency and revenue mobilisation.

Speaking in a media interview Mr. Neequaye Kotey described the initiative as a major success, stating that the extended service hours have significantly improved service delivery and customer turnaround time.

According to him, the Adenta DVLA office, which has been operating around the clock for several months, emerged as the Authority’s best-performing office in 2025. He attributed this achievement to increased productivity, improved workflow, and enhanced revenue generation under the 24-hour system.

“Adenta has been fantastic,” he said. “We are gradually adding regional offices. For now, we are implementing extended working hours before rolling out full 24-hour operations nationwide. Last year, the Adenta office was the best-performing DVLA office in terms of revenue mobilisation and operational efficiency. As it stands, Adenta continues to operate on a 24-hour basis.”

Mr. Neequaye Kotey explained that the DVLA is adopting a phased approach to the expansion of the initiative. Rather than immediately implementing round-the-clock operations across the country, management is first extending working hours at selected regional offices to assess feasibility and sustainability.

He stated that the Adenta model is being closely monitored to ensure that the gains recorded can be maintained over time. The evaluation focuses on staff productivity, customer satisfaction, and the financial viability of operating beyond traditional working hours.

The DVLA boss added that if the positive trends observed at the Adenta office continue, the Authority will consider extending the full 24-hour operational system to other DVLA offices nationwide. He stressed that the ultimate goal is to enhance service delivery, reduce congestion at DVLA centres, and make services more accessible to the public.

Mr. Neequaye Kotey reaffirmed the DVLA’s commitment to modernising its operations and adopting innovative approaches that respond to the needs of motorists and the general public.
