Pres. Mahama pledges support for traders who suffered loses

President John Dramani Mahama has assured that appropriate measures will be taken to support traders who suffered losses in the recent fire outbreak at Adum in Kumasi
Two-story buildings housing several shops have been razed down by a fire outbreak in the central business district of Adum in Kumasi.
The fire at the popular Blue Light arena, close to Hello FM, started around 6am and spread rapidly as fire officers made attempts to contain the blaze.
Panicking traders had to break into their shops to throw out their wares as the fire ravaged.
Most of the affected shops dealt in mobile phones and accessories, jewellery, and clothing.
President Mahama together with the Ashanti regional minister Dr. Frank Amoakohene on March 21, 2025, visited the scene to assess the extent of destruction and express solidarity with the affected traders.
The President promised support for all traders who have been affected by the fire.
