Kofi Amoabeng eulogizes ‘fallen’ staff and Investors at Book Launch

The Chief Executive Officer of defunct UT Bank Captain Kofi Amoabeng has eulogized his former staff and investors who died following the collapse his bank his book launch
The defunct UT Bank was amongst the banks collapsed as part of the banking sector clean up together with Capital Bank and later merged into GCB Bank
Speaking during his book launch titled The UT story Vol. 3 Faithful Decisions, at the Labadi Beach Hotel, on February 20, 2025; Captain Amoabeg described the situation as a nightmare, which included losing some of his dedicated staff and investors.

“I think the whole night has been very interesting with people talking about nothing and me always smiling and showing resilience, but I have had nightmares, and some of my nightmares were my staff, and this was one of them that I really, really loved”.
“It’s good to see some of you here making it in life and I’m so happy that you know you’re also resilient and you’ve changed your course, but some actually couldn’t make it, and some even died”.
He also revealed that some of the investors who had business with his bank also died as result of its collapse. “When there was the collapse of UT Bank, and the brand was therefore damaged, and there was a rush on UT Holdings, some of our investors also died, so please, I want you to please be outstanding for me and for us, and we reserve a moment’s silence for those who have gathered for this experience”.
