Northern Region Ghana TVET Service pays courtesy call on Regional Minister
Principals of the Ghana Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Service in the Northern Region have paid a courtesy call on the Regional Minister, Mr John Adolf Ali at his office in Tamale.
The call was to officially welcome him into office and to introduce the group as stakeholders in the development of the region.
It was further to highlight the importance of collaboration between the Ghana TVET Service and the Regional Minister’s office in promoting technical and vocational education.
Mr Musah Issah, leader of the Principals during the visit, enumerated some of the challenges confronting the TVET Service in the region, and mentioned inadequate infrastructure and the lack of practical training equipment.
He appealed to the Government through the Minister to ensure the provision of infrastructure to facilitate the effective training of the youth to help create more employment opportunities in the region.
The Regional Minister, for his part, assured the group of Government’s commitment to revamp the TVET Service as part of efforts to address the issues of unemployment in the country.
The Ghana TVET Service was established by the Pre-Tertiary Education Act, 2020 to manage and implement national policies on pre-tertiary education on technical and vocational education. It aims to stimulate creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth in the country.
