Transparency and Compliance; key to Common Fund Mgt – Yamson

The newly appointed administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Michael Harry Yamson has pledged his commitment to enhancing transparency and compliance in the management of the fund.
Mr. Yamson, was appointed the administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) by President John Mahama on Tuesday February 11, 2025
“We need to improve compliance and ensure that all processes related to the funding are transparent especially in the way the Fund functions,” Yamson said speaking exclusively to the New Finder following his appointment.
He also expressed his excitement at the new role and his intention to work with relevant stakeholders to strengthen the Fund.
“I feel deeply honoured,” Yamson said, “I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to make this Fund even stronger.”
Yamson expressed his gratitude to the President for the opportunity noting that the DACF has been a key element in improving governance and driving national development.
About Yamson
Yamson is an experienced leader, currently serving as a Board Member at Unichem Ghana Group and as the Managing Partner at Ishmael Yamson & Associates since 2021. He has held senior roles at prominent organizations such as Unilever, Celtel International, and MTI Ghana Limited, where he specialized in brand development, marketing, and investment strategy.
As a graduate of the University of Leeds, Yamson is highly skilled in brand and channel development, innovation, and team leadership. His extensive experience is expected to enhance the strategic allocation and management of the DACF, which plays a crucial role in local governance and community development across Ghana.About the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF)
The DACF was established by the District Assemblies Common Fund Act 455 of 1993 to allocate financial resources to district assemblies across Ghana. The fund is comprised of resources designated by Parliament, along with interest and dividends from investments. Allocations are made quarterly, with funds distributed based on a formula approved by Parliament to support local development projects and governance.
