Trump Proposes U.S. Control of Gaza, Promises Economic Development

U.S. President Donald Trump has proposed that the United States take control of the Gaza Strip, vowing to rebuild the war-torn region into a thriving economic hub. His remarks, made during a press conference, outlined a vision of stability, development, and resettlement for the Palestinian territory.

“We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site,” Trump stated.

Trump indicated that his plan would bring long-term stability to the region, arguing that returning to the status quo was not an option.

“We’ll do a real job. Do something different. Just can’t go back. If you go back, it’s going to be the same way it has for 100 years,” he said.

When asked about the fate of the 1.8 million Palestinians currently living in Gaza, Trump insisted that resettlement was a viable solution.

He suggested relocating residents to newly developed areas, claiming it would improve their quality of life.

Trump elaborated on his vision for Gaza, comparing it to a world-class tourist and business destination.

“I envision people living there, the world’s people. I think we’ll make that into an international unbelievable place. I think the potential in the Gaza Strip is unbelievable,” he said.

He also expressed confidence that regional leaders, including those of Jordan and Egypt, would eventually support his plan. “Despite them saying no, I have a feeling that the King in Jordan and that Egypt will open their hearts and give us the kind of land that we need to get this done, and people can live in harmony and peace.”

Trump’s proposal is likely to spark significant debate, with questions over its feasibility, international legality, and the potential response from Palestinians and regional powers. The plan’s suggestion of U.S. ownership of Gaza raises diplomatic concerns, while the concept of forced resettlement is certain to draw criticism from human rights organizations. As the international community weighs in, the future of Gaza remains uncertain. However, Trump remains steadfast in his belief that U.S. intervention could reshape the region.
