GES Warns Public Against Fake Recruitment Notices on Social Media

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has warned the public to be cautious of a fake recruitment letter circulating on social media, describing the document as unauthorised and misleading.

In a statement issued on Friday, January 23, 2026, the Service revealed that it had sighted a document claiming to announce the commencement of recruitment into the GES. The Service, however, clarified that no such recruitment exercise has begun and that the circulating letter did not originate from its offices.

GES emphasised that all official announcements regarding recruitment will be made exclusively through its recognised and verified communication channels. The Service urged job seekers and the general public to rely solely on these platforms for accurate information.

“The public is therefore advised to treat as false any recruitment announcement that does not emanate from the official platforms of the Ghana Education Service,” the statement noted.

The Service also reiterated its commitment to conducting transparent, credible, and professional recruitment processes. It appealed to the public to remain vigilant against misinformation that could mislead job seekers or tarnish the integrity of the Service.

The warning comes amid increasing reports of fraudulent activities online, where unauthorised individuals circulate false documents promising jobs or recruitment opportunities. Such acts not only deceive job seekers but also undermine public trust in official institutions.

GES’s statement serves as a reminder that candidates seeking employment with the Service should verify any announcements through official GES channels, including its website and recognised social media accounts. The Service stressed that it will not entertain or recognise recruitment claims made through unofficial channels.

By cautioning the public, the Ghana Education Service aims to prevent exploitation of unsuspecting individuals and to uphold the credibility of its recruitment procedures. Job seekers are encouraged to exercise caution, report suspicious documents, and always confirm information with official GES sources before taking any action.

The Service’s proactive approach underscores its commitment to safeguarding the interests of both applicants and the integrity of the education system in Ghana.
