Amankwah Mireku wants Hearts to drop Osei Asibey after Kotoko mistake

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra
Hearts of Oak legend Yaw Amankwah Mireku has called on the technical of the club to drop overconfident’ Kelvin Osei Asibey to the bench.
Asibey’s error led to the Phobians defeat to the Porcupine Warriors in matchday 13 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday afternoon, held at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Kotoko have now extended their winning streak over Hearts of Oak to four games following the recent triumph.
Speaking to Akoma FM, Mireku asserted the club has been dropping vital points in the Ghanaian top-flight because of Asibey and has therefore demanded for his exclusion from the starting lineup.
“Osei Asibey wouldn’t make such errors if I were on the Hearts technical staff. Although he is an excellent player, but all the evidence points to the training grounds being the source of these errors”
“The team is losing points because of his overconfidence with the ball, which has become a feature of his game”
“This is the third time his errors have cost Hearts of Oak points, and just as coaches are sacked when their errors cost the team points, players who consistently cost the team points should be sidelined”
Hearts of Oak are currently seventh on the Ghana Premier League standings with 19 points after 13 matches.
