Ex-Hasaacas player dies while work as polling agent during election

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra

Former Sekondi Hasaacas player, Kwabena Baidoo, has tragically lost his life in a motorbike accident while carrying out his duties as a polling agent for Kukua Bissue, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate in the Ahanta West Constituency.

The accident occurred on Saturday night as Baidoo, along with other polling agents, were transporting ballot boxes and pink sheets to the constituency’s collation center.

His brother, Emmanuel Quarm, confirmed the news in an interview with Connect 97.1 FM.

“Kwabena was overjoyed because his candidate won at his polling station,” Quarm shared. “On his way to the collation center, he was involved in an accident. His motorbike crashed, and he hit his head on the road. He was rushed to the Axim Government Hospital but sadly passed away early Sunday morning.” Baidoo’s untimely death has left the football and political communities in shock. Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced as his family and loved ones mourn this tragic loss.
