Mustapha Ussif commissions Wa Youth Resource Centre

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra

Mustapha Ussif, the Minister for Youth and Sports, has inaugurated the Wa Multipurpose Youth Resource Centre, marking a significant step in the government’s initiative to establish ten such facilities nationwide.

The ceremony took place on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, in the capital of the Upper West Region.

During the opening, Ussif reiterated the important role this centre will play in empowering the youth and providing them with essential resources.

The facility, which has been renamed B.K. Adama, is the second of its kind to be completed, following the earlier commissioning of the Koforidua facility.

The renovation of the centre began in March 2018 under the leadership of former Sports Minister Isaac Asiamah.

The upgrades include a football pitch 5,000-seater stand, basketball and volleyball courts, a lawn tennis court, and running tracks, enhancing the venue’s capacity to host various sporting and community events.

This project is part of a broader strategy by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to create multipurpose resource centres that foster youth development throughout Ghana.
