Sudan assistant coach Ignatius Osei-Fosu confident of coaching Black Stars

Sudan’s assistant coach, Ignatius Osei-Fosu, has expressed his readiness to coach Ghana’s senior national team, the Black Stars.
Osei-Fosu, along with former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, has led Sudan to qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
They joined Angola as the two teams that qualified from Group F with Ghana finishing bottom with three points after six games.
Speaking to 3 Sports, the former Eleven Wonders and Medeama SC tactician expressed confidence in his readiness to manage the Black Stars, citing the mentorship he has received from Kwesi Appiah.
According to Osei-Fosu, his tactical acumen and experience make him well-equipped to manage the team.
“I think I need to learn more from Kwesi Appiah. But if he says, ˜Ignatius, you’ve been with me for one year now, and the Black Stars are calling you, I think you’re ready,’ I will take the job because tactically, I am capable of handling the Black Stars,” he said.
Meanwhile, Otto Addo, who failed to qualify the Black Stars for the AFCON tournament is expected to be retained as the head coach.
