Accra Sports Stadium to host AFCON qualifier against Niger

The Accra Sports Stadium will host Ghana’s final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Niger on Monday, November 18, 2024, the Ghana Football Association has confirmed.
This comes after the venue was approved for the matchday 3 encounter against Sudan early this month.
The game which could potentially determine Ghana’s faith at the tournament in Morocco is expected to draw a huge crowd especially with Sudan playing Angola at the same time in Libya.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars currently sit third in Group F with just 2 points after four matches.
They trail leaders Angola by 10 points and second-placed Sudan by 5 points.
Qualification is no longer in the hands of the Black Stars. To keep their hopes alive, Ghana must win its remaining matches. They must defeat both Niger and Angola while hoping Sudan to lose both of their remaining matches.
Kwesi Appiah’s Sudan needs just a point to secure qualification.
Fans expect a compelling performance from the team as their performances have been underwhelming in the last five years.
