‘Leverage global cloud partnerships for operational efficiency’

Samuel Acquah, Chief Executive Officer of Guglex Technologies, has called on businesses in Ghana to form strategic partnerships with global cloud service providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) to harness the full potential of cloud computing.
Speaking on the “Science and Tech Segment” of Zed in the Morning, on Zed 101.9fm, Mr. Acquah emphasized the transformative benefits cloud technology offers to businesses, urging them to adapt to the growing global trend of cloud adoption.
According to recent reports, between 67% and 70% of enterprises worldwide have integrated cloud computing into their operations, underscoring the increasing recognition of its operational efficiencies, cost savings, and scalability. However, Mr. Acquah acknowledged that many businesses in Ghana are still hesitant to fully embrace the cloud, largely due to a lack of understanding and concerns around regulatory compliance.
“One of the challenges we face when trying to implement cloud solutions is that some businesses are not fully aware of the value it brings. They may not be enlightened on how cloud computing can streamline their operations, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction,” Mr. Acquah explained. “It’s essential to present a compelling case for how cloud services can mitigate operational challenges and enable businesses to operate more efficiently.”
Mr. Acquah noted that the path to cloud adoption can be smoother through strategic partnerships with established cloud providers. He emphasized the importance of collaboration with international companies like AWS, highlighting that these partnerships can help businesses in Ghana overcome initial barriers to cloud integration, such as cost concerns and technological limitations.
“Cloud adoption doesn’t have to be expensive. By partnering with telcos, banks, and leading technology platforms like AWS, businesses can negotiate long-term agreements that provide access to cloud services at reduced costs,” he said. “These partnerships allow Ghanaian companies to tap into world-class infrastructure and solutions, which can drive growth and innovation.”
Mr. Acquah also pointed out that businesses that successfully adopt cloud solutions can experience faster processes, improved customer experiences, and enhanced flexibility, giving them a competitive edge in today’s global marketplace. He encouraged more businesses, particularly in sectors like telecommunications, banking, and technology, to explore these opportunities.
“Many global companies have already established partnerships that Ghanaian businesses can join. These collaborations offer a business model that supports innovation while helping companies scale at a fraction of the cost they would incur on their own,” he added. In conclusion, Mr. Acquah stressed the need for Ghanaian businesses to be proactive in adapting to cloud technologies, which are rapidly becoming a cornerstone of modern business operations worldwide. By forming partnerships with global cloud providers, businesses can ensure they remain competitive, innovative, and capable of delivering the best services to their customers in an increasingly digital world.
