Derek Boateng tips San Diego star Manu Duah for Black Stars call-up

Former Black Stars midfielder Derek Boateng has recommended San Diego FC’s defender Manu Duah for selection to Ghana’s senior national team.

The 20-year-old centre-back has been a revelation in Major League Soccer, delivering top-notch performances week in, week out for the Western Conference leaders.

Duah has earned back-to-back Man of the Match awards in recent fixtures, drawing the attention of the ex-Fulham star, who believes the Black Stars technical team should act swiftly to secure the services of the lanky defender.

“Watching you every day in training and matches on weekends as a centre-back, and seeing how confident and disciplined you are in that position, Manu Duah, I think it is about time the national team of Ghana, the Black Stars, benefit from your talent,” Boateng posted on social media.

Boateng, who is currently based in the United States, works with the Right to Dream Academy in San Diego.

Meanwhile, Duah was the number one pick in the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, following his standout performances at UC Santa Barbara.
