FC Nordsjaelland manager hails Michael Essien’s role at the club

FC Nordsjaelland manager, Jens Fonsskov Olsen, has disclosed the importance of legendary Ghanaian footballer Michael Essien to the club.
The former Ghana and Chelsea midfielder has been working as an individual talent coach at the Danish club since hanging up his boots.
Essien plays a key role in preparing young players seamlessly transition to the first team at the Danish Superliga side.
Explaining his role at the club, Jens Olsen stated Essien has a keen interest in paying attention to details, which makes his a great addition to the technical bench.
“First of all, it has been great meeting Michael Essien. He has a great personality and has a lot of charisma and of course he is here to support the young guys. He felt football on his own, body and mind, working and playing in different cultures and so on so they can get a lot from him,” he told Joy Sports.
“He has a role which is just behind. He is very good in looking at the small details and preparing the players in our style of play but also, his experience from the higher level and so on. So he is good on the individual feedback, both when he play and also on clips,” he added.
Essien enjoyed an illustrious playing career, winning several trophies with Chelsea and played 59 times for the Black Stars of Ghana.
