Samatex land in Morocco ahead of Raja Casablanca game

FC Samartex have arrived in Morocco ahead of their crucial CAF Champions League clash against Raja Casablanca on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

The team led by the technical team, the president of the club as well as management touched down in Casablanca on Thursday afternoon.

The players and the rest of the team will head to their hotel before their first training session later in the day.

The Ghanaian champions travelled to the North African nation after a 2-2 draw in the first leg of the second round of the preliminary stage.

Samartex desperately needs a win or a high-scoring draw to advance to the group stage of the competition on their first appearance in continental football.

The two sides will then lock horns on Saturday at the Stade Larbi Zaouilfor a place in the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

“It’s obvious that we have a challenging task ahead of us, but we are fully committed to putting forth every effort and utilizing all our resources throughout the entirety of the game to ensure the best possible outcome,” says deputy captain of Samartex, Ebenezer Acquah.

Raja will be without midfielder Mohamed Zrida, who will be serving a one-game suspension after receiving a red card in the first leg in Accra.
