Michelle Agyemang joins Brighton and Hove Albion

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra

Black Queens prospect Michelle Agyemang has joined Brighton and Hove Albion Ladies in the transfer window.

The 18-year-old signed a season-long loan deal to join the Seagulls from London club Arsenal.

The English-born Ghanaian rose through the ranks at Arsenal and her move to Brighton is to help her secure regular game time in the new campaign.

“We’re delighted to welcome Michelle to the club. She is a goalscorer and an excellent playmaker,” said Brighto manage Dario Vidosic.

“It’s clear to see her talent and potential in the game and she will give us another exciting option in attack. We’re looking forward to seeing what she can add to our team this season,” he added.

The talented attacker made his senior debut for Arsenal in 2022 in a Women’s League game against Leicester City. She netted her maiden goal for the club in an FA Cup game against Leeds United in January 2023.

Although she is born to Ghanaian parents in England, Agyemang remains eligible to play for the Black Queens. She was part of the Young Lionesses team that reached the European U19 Championship semi-final this summer.
