Ghana midfielder Jeffrey Schlupp shares season target at Crystal Palace

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra

Jeffrey Schlupp has shared his goal target for the new English Premier League season with Crystal Palace.

The veteran midfielder was an unused substitute in the Eagles’ away defeat to Brentford on opening day despite a rich run of form in pre-season.

The Ghana international scored in three consecutive games during preparations and he is expected to play a huge role in the new season due to his experience in the league.

Despite his scoring prowess in pre-season, the German-born Ghanaian is not known for goals, netting only two goals in 29 appearances last season.

However, Schlupp is hoping to improve his numbers in-front of goal in the 2024/25 campaign.

“I wish I had that form in the Premier League! For me, I managed to score a few goals this pre-season and I’m happy with how I performed,” he told Crystal Palace TV.

“In terms of a goal target, any more than last year would be good for me, but hopefully we just have a successful season all together and then if I can chip in with some goals and assists, I’ll be happy with that, yeah. “We’ve worked so hard and hopefully we can give [the fans] something good to shout about on the first day.”
