German-born Ghanaian defender Patric Pfeiffer has completed a loan move to Swiss Super League side BSC Young Boys from Bundesliga outfit FC Augsburg.
The move marks a significant step in Pfeiffer’s career, as he looks to gain more playing time and experience in a competitive European league.
Pfeiffer joined Augsburg on a free transfer in the previous season but struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup.
“Following an open and constructive dialogue with those in charge, I’m convinced that this is the best option to continue my development. It’s a great opportunity to gather important minutes for a strong team like Young Boys,” he said.
“I’m also excited to be able to take part in a European competition and experience playing abroad, in order to return to Augsburg even stronger next season,” he added.
This experience could be crucial for Pfeiffer as he continues to develop his skills and aims to make a mark in European football. Despite switching his nationality allegiance from Germany to represent Ghana, Pfeiffer has yet to earn his first international cap for the Black Stars.
