MTN donates Ga Mantse towards Homowo Festival

MTN Ghana has donated GH₵30,000, along with beverages and airtime, to the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Tsuru II, at his residence in Accra.
The gesture was made to support the celebration of this year’s Homowo Festival.
Presenting the items, Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer at MTN Ghana, Adwoa Wiafe, stated that the donation was to celebrate the heritage of the Ga people as part of the company’s effort to reach out to their numerous customers in Accra.
She emphasized MTN’s commitment to supporting local traditions and communities by participating in the annual Homowo Festival and highlighted the growing relationship between MTN and the Ga people and their chiefs.
As a responsible corporate citizen, Madam Wiafe said MTN believes in contributing to the community and partnering with stakeholders. She noted that the Ga people and their chiefs are important stakeholders for MTN Ghana, which is why the company always deems it important to participate in their festivals.
Madam Wiafe mentioned that MTN Ghana has set up customer experience centers at event venues and surrounding areas to provide immediate assistance to customers, addressing any issues they may encounter during the festival.
She highlighted the measures being taken to ensure seamless connectivity and customer satisfaction, including the deployment of backup Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) at event venues.
These mobile stations are crucial in maintaining stable network connectivity, particularly in areas with high footfall, ensuring that customers can stay connected without interruptions.
Madam Wiafe expressed confidence in the preparations and assured customers that MTN Ghana has taken all necessary steps to ensure a successful and enjoyable festival experience.
She also expressed gratitude to the Ga people and wished them a happy Homowo Festival.
The Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, expressed his profound gratitude to the company for the gesture and called on other corporate organizations to support activities related to the festival.
He mentioned that the donation would significantly aid the cost of activities towards the celebration. He emphasized that the festival is about unity in the entire Ga state, extending an invitation to everyone to partake in the occasion.
