Kotoko announce signing of Guinean goalkeeper Mohammed Camara

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra

Ghanaian giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko remain active in the transfer market after announcing the capture of Guinean goalkeeper Mohammed Camara.

Camara joins the Porcupine Warriors on a two-year deal from Soar Academy as a replacement for former captain Danlad Ibrahim, who left at the end of last season.

The lanky shot-stopper will compete for places in the starting lineup with first-choice Fredrick Asare and Fatao.

“Amos had a lot of very good things to say about the club; the supporters, the supportive environment, and the ambition to achieve success. This convinced me that Asante Kotoko is the right place for me to continue my career,” revealed the goalkeeper, stating former Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong played a role in his move.

Meanwhile, coach Prosper Narteh Ogum is pleased with the acquisition of the goalkeeper ahead of the upcoming campaign.

“Mohammed Camara is an outstanding goalkeeper with incredible talent.

His agility, quick reflexes, and ability to command his area make him a perfect fit for our team. He comes highly recommended, and we are confident he will be a great asset to our club,” he said.
