Ghana qualifies for Beach Soccer AFCON after victory over Ivory Coast

The Black Sharks, Ghana’s Beach Soccer team, have qualified for the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt after mauling neighbours Ivory Coast in Abidjan.
Ghana produced a strong display in Ivory Coast to beat their opponents 5-2 and seal a spot in Egypt.
The Black Sharks picked one of the tickets for the continental showpiece following a 10-5 aggregate win on Saturday, July 27, 2024.
Ghana travelled to Abidjan with a 5-3 first-leg win and were down by 2 goals to 1 after the first period of their encounter in the Ivorian capital.
However, a magnificent display in the second and third periods ensured Ghana ended the game with victory.
Wise Nyamadi levelled the scores in the second half before captain Alex Osah gave the Black Stars the lead for the first time in the match.
Late goals from Precious Torgbor and Jude Akile sealed the win for Ghana.
Ghana will join seven other teams for the tournament later this year.
