Majeed Ashimeru extends contract at Belgium outfit Anderlecht

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra

Ghana midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has been rewarded with a new contract by Belgium giants RSC Anderlecht.

The former WAFA midfielder signed a new two-year deal to extend his stay at the club until the summer of 2027.

Ashimeru joined the Purple and White in 2021 and has made over a century of appearances for the club.

“In the last three seasons at RSCA, I have grown as a player and as a person. I’m very grateful to both the club and the fans for their continued support over the past years,” he told the club.

“They have come to know me as a player, but I have the feeling I have more to give back. I want to do everything within my powers to make the fans and the club proud. That’s also why I’m so happy to extend my contract here.”

Ashimeru has been troubled by injuries in the past few campaigns but hopes to stay fit for the upcoming season.
