Former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, has rejected calls for Kwesi Appiah to resign from his job as an Exco Member of the federation.
Appiah’s position on the FA’s highest decision making body has been out as role that will compromise his work with the Sudanese national team.
Ghana have been draw against Sudan, Angola and Niger in Group F of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
With Ghana set to face the North Africans in September, Sannie Daara believes Appiah as coach of Sudan impacts positively on football in the country.
“I don’t see the issue that people have been raising. There’s always a case where people can recuse themselves from such discussion and it should be a straight forward case,” he said in an interview with JoySports.
“Kwasi Appiah being there in charge of Sudan and also being in the Exco will add a lot of good to Ghana football.
“The learning experiences he will have in Sudan, he will bring it back as a Ghanaian to impact on Ghana football. If there are any issues of conflict of interest, he can recuse himself from those meetings.”
The Black Stars will begin the qualifying campaign in September with hopes of returning to the continent’s flagship competition next year in Morocco.
