Ghana to face Uganda for Spot at 2026 U-20 Women’s World Cup

Ghana Black Princesses will face Uganda in the final round of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.

The matchup follows both teams’ aggregate victories on Sunday, as Ghana eliminated South Africa and Uganda edged past Zambia in the third round of the qualifiers.

After a 2-2 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium, Charles Sampson’s side secured a crucial 1-0 win in the reverse fixture, thanks to a decisive strike from substitute Priscilla Mensah.

Uganda, meanwhile, were held to a 1-1 draw at home in their first-leg encounter against Zambia. However, they sealed qualification with a hard-fought 1-0 away victory in the return leg to book their place in the final phase.

The Black Princesses are chasing an eighth consecutive appearance at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, having featured at every edition since making their debut in 2010.

The decisive tie between Ghana and Uganda is scheduled for May, with both sides battling for one of Africa’s four slots at the global tournament.
