Rose Yeboah qualifies for Paris Olympics

Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah has made history by breaking the national high jump record and securing her spot at the upcoming Paris Olympics. The highly-rated 21-year-old Ghanaian athlete achieved this feat by clearing 1.97 meters at the 2024 NCAA Division I Championships, earning her automatic qualification for the Paris Games.

Yeboah’s remarkable achievement makes her the first female Ghanaian athlete to win the NCAA Division I national championship.

This will also mark her debut at the summer Olympics, joining Ghana’s 4×100 meter relay team, who have also qualified for the Paris Olympics.

Her impressive performance at the recently held African Games saw her win gold by clearing a height of 1.90 meters.

This victory adds to her growing list of accolades, which includes gold medals at the 2019 African Games and the 2022 African Senior Athletics Championship in Mauritius.

Yeboah’s record-breaking jump and her consistent performances on the international stage highlight her as one of Ghana’s most promising athletes, poised to make a significant impact at the Paris Olympics.
