Desperate investors vow to picket until funds are released

Members of the Locked-up Investment Holders’ Forum have resumed picketing at the Ministry of Finance, demanding the release of their frozen investments. Despite exhausting all avenues of negotiation, the group remains resolute in their protest until their financial grievances are addressed.
The convener of the Forum, Dr. Adu Anane Antwi, expressed the group’s frustration in an interview with Zed Multimedia.com, stating that they have been left with no other option. “We will continue to picket until the Ministry of Finance releases our monies,” Dr. Antwi declared.
Efforts to arrange a meeting with ministry officials have been unproductive, leaving the forum members feeling unheard and disregarded. “We have since not heard from them. So now we are resolved that they should go and look for the money for us,” Dr. Antwi added.
The Forum’s decision to resume picketing comes after they suspended an earlier protest based on assurances from Deputy Finance Minister Dr. Stephen Amoah, who had promised to address their concerns. However, the group’s patience has worn thin as no tangible progress has been made.
However, Dr Adu Anane says, text messages sent to the Deputy Minister to schedule a meeting has not been responded to.
Among the protestors are individuals with significant sums of money locked up in financial institutions such as NDK Financial Services, SDC Financial Services, Bond Savings and Loans, and SIC Life Savings and Loans. Some members report having funds amounting to approximately GHS 400,000, causing considerable financial strain.
The Locked-up Investment Holders’ Forum is determined to keep the pressure on the government until a resolution is reached.
