Karim Zito remains unfazed by prospect of key players leaving Dreams FC

Dreams FC coach Abdul Karim Zito has conveyed his unwavering resolve in the face of the possibility of key players departing the club following their impressive showing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Despite the disappointment of their exit from the competition after a defeat to Zamalek in the semi-finals at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Zito remains assured of the team’s capability to manage any potential departures.
He underscored Dreams’ core ethos as a club committed to nurturing young talent and facilitating their transitions to clubs across Africa and Europe.
“We have our concept seriously. We developed this young ones and then let them go to also change their lives with their family,” he told Citi Sports.
“So we have the breeding team, we have in-God-we-trust and Still Believe Team there where we groom a lot of talents.
“And for here, we have about six players who have been with me from Still Believe and they are here.
“So when you just come to play with Dreams from Still Believe, you don’t find it any difficult because the same section they take is the same thing.
“So to me, I am even praying at the end of the day, about 10 of them should go.
“Then we start building again.
“Because what do I have if I don’t sell them? I have to sell them to also get my percentage. I also want to make money myself.
“So for me about 10 players all of them should go, so then we build our own.”
Several players from Dreams FC have garnered interest from clubs in both Africa and Europe, with Abdul Azziz Issah reportedly catching the eye of Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam and Asante Kotoko, who are keen on securing him on loan.
With attention turning to the MTN FA Cup quarter-final match against Soccer Intellectuals on Thursday, May 2, 2024, Dreams are determined to secure a spot in the semi-finals of the competition.
Dreams FC, considered clear favourites to clinch the title for the second time in the club’s history, are poised to continue their pursuit of success on both domestic and continental fronts.
