Bofoakwa Tano plan to boycott FA Cup clash with Dreams FC
Alex Ababio, the CEO of Bofoakwa Tano, has expressed concerns regarding his team’s potential participation in the FA Cup semifinal against Dreams FC in Sogakope.
Ababio emphasized that Bofoakwa Tano expects the organizing committee to cover their travel and lodging expenses for the match.
He stated that if these expenses are not covered, the team will be unable to participate in the fixture.
“The FA Cup committee must fund our cost while traveling if they truly want us to honour our FA Cup match against Dreams FC in Sogakope,” he told Akoma FM.
“If not, there is no way we will be able to secure funding and make the trip from Sunyani to Sogakope.
“I won’t be shocked if what transpired at Sunyani in the Premier League happens again.
“Everyone witnessed what happened during our match against Dreams FC and it’s the same team we are meeting.
“We ought to have been able to play the game at a location that benefits both teams, not just one.
“What matters is that, if they are willing to pay our bills, we can proceed, if not, I’m not sure we can honour the match. Even though they offer some financial assistance, it is still insufficient,” he added.
Bofoakwa Tano find themselves in a precarious position, just one point above relegation in the Ghana Premier League, currently occupying the 15th spot in the table.
Their next league encounter will be an away fixture against Samarboi, where they will face the league leaders, Samartex.
