Fela Makafui: A life of struggles , resilience and success

Ghanaian actress, Influencer and Entrepreneur, Fella Makafui say her rise from a humble beginning to the feat she has attained is by dint of hard work and a deliberate plan in motion.
Speaking on Zed Fm highway 10.19 Fela said she was proud to see herself evolve in every facet of her life albeit the challenges.
“Anything I’ve ever done in this world, I’ve planned for it. I’ve wanted it. Nothing in my life has been a mistake”.
Recounting her life journey into stardom, Fela said she used to sell secondhand clothings popularly known as ‘goes’ at Kantamanto in accra to make ends meet.
“From a humble beginning I used to sell “fose” and used to go to Kantamanto.”
She also recounted other aspect of her life where she at a point in time had to serve as a maid servant with a friend in the home of a Lebanese family .
“ I’d move from there to Circle. That’s where my bosses used to live. So I’d go there, clean and do all of that.
I used to live at Cantonment with my friend who worked with some Caucasians at the boys’ quarters. And one day she just asked me to leave.
So I went back to [the Volta Region] to my mum.”
At a point she said “ I used to sell bread and stuff for my mum. my mum owns a provision shop, so when I come back from school, I just carry bread and roam around.”
It was at this point she said , she made a firm promise to herself to push harder to be successful.
The YOLO singer, who entered the beauty business with her line “Beauty by Fella Makafui,” expressed her displeasure at the lack of encouragement she received from close friends and coworkers.
She described how she was initially hopeful that people close to her would support her greatly, but she was met with harsh reality.
Fella Makafui says as result of the experience gained from some failed business ventures she has taken a decision to keep some of the businesses she owns out of the public eye
Speaking on her family life Fela said she was blessed to have a beautiful daughter who meant everything to her and would be the happier to have twins in the future .
“I’m happy and proud to have a very beautiful daughter.Motherhood has been a blessing. If I get twins, why not?
Fella Makafui is currently occupied with media tour promoting her new movie, ‘Resonance’ premiering on May 11 at the Silverbird cinemas at Accra mall and West Hills mall .
