YEA partners Guinness to upskill 200 youth in young hospitality

The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has embarked on a significant initiative in collaboration with Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC (GGBPLC) to provide skills training for 200 young hospitality professionals under the Learning for Life programme.

This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to enhance job creation efforts and promote ethical business practices, contributing to a more diverse and inclusive tourism industry.

At the signing ceremony, Alhaji Bashiru Ibrahim, Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of YEA, underscored the importance of partnerships like these in empowering youth and fostering sustainable employment opportunities.

He commended Guinness Ghana for its longstanding commitment to youth development and emphasized the transformative impact of the Learning for Life programme.

Highlighting YEA’s broader mandate to facilitate youth employment and skills training, Alhaji Ibrahim revealed ongoing collaborations with various organizations to train thousands of young people across different sectors.

He expressed confidence that the partnership with Guinness Ghana would equip beneficiaries with globally relevant skills, enhancing their employability both locally and internationally.

Managing Director of Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC, Felicite Nson, reiterated the company’s dedication to diversity and inclusivity in its operations.

She emphasized the role of the Learning for Life program in providing equal access to employment opportunities and addressing societal challenges.

Madam Nson emphasized the program’s gender-inclusive approach and its track record of empowering individuals worldwide.

The Learning for Life programme, which originated in Latin America in 2008, has since reached over 200,000 people, according to Madam Nson.

It offers comprehensive training and mentorship, equipping participants with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the hospitality industry.

Madam Nson encouraged enthusiastic participation in the programme, emphasizing its potential to unlock opportunities and drive community development.
