Ghud Park’s Santa Project Spreads Christmas Joy to Children in Need

The Ghud Park in Accra has launched its first-ever “Ghud Santa Project,” an initiative aimed at supporting less privileged children during the Christmas season.
The event, held on Wednesday, December 10 brought together children from partner orphanages, including the Father Campbell SVD Foundation and the Miracle Child Foundation, who wrote letters listing the items they hoped to receive for Christmas.
These letters were read during the program, with benevolent individuals volunteering to adopt a letter, purchase the requested items and submit by December 24, 2025.
Speaking to The New Finder, Marketing and Sales Representative at Ghud Park, Stanley Azu, said the project was designed to put smiles on the faces of children from partner orphanages.
He explained that the park wanted to support less privileged children and encourage Ghanaians and Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to get involved.
Mr. Azu highlighted that 28 letters were written by the children, of which 10 have already been adopted, leaving 18 outstanding.
He urged the public to visit Ghud Park daily before December 25, meet the manager and adopt letters to help make the children’s Christmas special.
“Even children who are not in orphanages deserve a chance to feel loved,” he said, emphasizing that gifts do not only bring happiness but also inspire children to continue learning and pursuing their dreams.
He added that the Ghud Park has been transformed into a Christmas village with play areas, skating zones and interactive games, making it a festive space for families.
Rev. Fr. James Kwaku Wormenor SVD, Executive Director of the Father Campbell SVD Foundation, described the foundation’s participation in the Ghud Santa Project as a compassionate and timely collaboration.
“This is a very beautiful opportunity where people are showing benevolence and kindness to children they don’t even know. It allows them to enjoy the season of joy, love and sharing,” he said. Fr. Wormenor expressed gratitude to Ghud Park’s leadership for organizing the initiative and praised the enthusiasm of those adopting letters as a demonstration of true generosity.
Benedicta Biney, a supporter who visited the event after seeing it online, said she was inspired to adopt some letters, emphasizing that even small acts of kindness can bring joy to a child.
“If buying a small gift can make someone smile, why not do it?” she said.
With 18 letters still awaiting adoption, Ghud Park and its leadership are calling on well-wishers to support the initiative and help bring joy to more children this Christmas.
