Atletico Madrid ready to make move for Ghana star Mohammed Kudus

By Lukman MUMIN, Accra

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have made contact with Ghanaian attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus over a potential move ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 24-year-old, who is on the radar of several clubs including Saudi giants Al Nassr, has become a key target for the La Liga side.

Kudus is reportedly on the wishlist of Diego Simeone as he builds a team capable of competing with Real Madrid and Barcelona for domestic trophies.

According to reports in England, initial contact has been made with Kudus’ representatives as the summer transfer window approaches.

The West Ham United star has had a topsy-turvy campaign in the Premier League this season, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 30 matches.

Despite the drop in his numbers this season, he remains on the radar of top clubs in England, including newly crowned champions Liverpool.

During the January transfer window, the Ghanaian was tempted on deadline day by Al Nassr, but West Ham United rejected the move. Kudus joined the Hammers from Ajax in 2023 and has since been a key figure at the London Olympic Stadium.
