I’m excited my sing-a-thon journey inspired young ones despite shortfall – Afua Asantewaa
Ghanaian entrepreneur Afua Asantewaa expressed her delight in the impact her sing-a-thon journey had on inspiring young people, despite falling short of breaking the Guinness World Record (GWR) for the longest singing time by an individual, previously held by Sunil Waghmare at 105 hours.
In a statement released following the announcement of her unsuccessful attempt, Afua Asantewaa extended her gratitude to the people of Ghana and various stakeholders for their support throughout her endeavor.
“While the final outcome of the attempt did not meet my expectations, I am content with the massive impact I made during the period of the sing-a-thon and beyond,” she remarked. “The interest and support I have received have been overwhelming, and I am deeply grateful.”
Afua Asantewaa emphasized her satisfaction with the opportunities the sing-a-thon provided for people who visited the venue during the Christmas festivities. “I am excited to have inspired a lot of young people to step out of their comfort zone to dream big,” she noted. “I am looking forward to the showcasing of more talents through GWR and other similar ventures that will help project the rich talent and resources Ghana is endowed with.”
Furthermore, Afua Asantewaa encouraged her fellow compatriots to pursue their initiatives aimed at breaking Guinness World Records across various endeavors. She also revealed her intention to engage with GWR to obtain details regarding her disqualification, with the aim of learning lessons from the experience.
