Housing Ministry outline 2024 priorities at retreats
The Ministry of Works and Housing has wrapped up a two-day retreat aimed at outlining priorities for the next 10 months, following a recent cabinet reshuffle.
Led by Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, the retreat brought together key figures within the Ministry and its affiliated agencies to strategize and prioritize actions for the remainder of the year.
The gathering, which included Deputy Minister-designate Prince Hamid Armah, Chief Director Stephen Yaw Osei, department heads, and heads of the 12 agencies under the Ministry, provided an opportunity for management to select priorities within existing resource and time constraints.
In his opening address, Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah stressed the urgent need for swift action given the limited time available during his tenure.
“We don’t have much time so we need to run very quickly and deliver on the job we’ve been tasked to do,” emphasized the Minister, setting a clear tone for the retreat.
Throughout the two-day event, representatives from the 12 agencies under the Ministry, including the Ghana Hydrological Authority, Public Works Department, and State Housing Company Limited, among others, delivered presentations outlining their plans and priorities for the upcoming year.
These presentations served to provide insights and set the stage for coordinated action and synergy across the Ministry.
Addressing the importance of collaboration, Minister Oppong Nkrumah urged all departments and agencies to work closely together to deliver higher value to the people of Ghana.
“We need to build enough synergies to deliver higher value to Ghanaians,” he remarked, emphasizing the collective effort required to achieve shared goals.
Chief Director Stephen Yaw Osei echoed the Minister’s sentiments, expressing optimism about the Ministry’s prospects for the year ahead.
“With such great team spirit and unity of purpose, there was nothing the Ministry would not be able to achieve if we set our hearts and minds to it,” he stated.
The retreat concluded with a renewed commitment to efficient execution and collaborative effort in tackling the Ministry’s goals and serving the Ghanaian public throughout 2024.
