Ag. Canadian High Commissioner calls on Lands Minister
The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Honorable Samuel A. Jinapor, recently welcomed officials from the High Commission of Canada to Ghana, led by Kathleen Flynn-Dapaah, Acting Canadian High Commissioner.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss pertinent issues in preparation for the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Mineral Exploration & Mining Convention 2024 in Toronto, Canada.
During the meeting, Jinapor affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to participating in the upcoming PDAC convention.
As Ghana holds a prominent position as the leading gold-producing country in Africa, the platform will serve as an opportunity to articulate policies regarding the future of Ghana’s mining industry.
Jinapor also praised the strong and mutually beneficial relationship between Ghana and Canada.
He expressed sincere appreciation for Canada’s support and cooperation over the years, highlighting the importance of collaboration in advancing the mining sector.
The PDAC Mining Conference is scheduled to take place from March 3-6, 2024.
The event aims to showcase exploration companies, government representatives, equipment manufacturers, and service providers from the global mining industry.
Key attendees at the meeting included Regional Senior Trade Commissioner Andrew Maharaj, Chief Director of the Ministry Professor Patrick Agbesinyale, Advisor on Mining to the Minister Mr. Benjamin Aryee, and other ministry officials.
