The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) in the Greater Accra Region has ushered in a new era of operational efficiency with the inauguration of a fully-furnished office complex, courtesy of the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources.

The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Benito Owusu-Bio, led the official handover ceremony on behalf of the Sector Minister.

The ceremony marked a significant milestone as Owusu-Bio symbolically handed over the keys of the magnificent office complex to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of operations of the DVLA, signifying the completion and readiness of the facility for operational functionality.

Owusu-Bio expressed his excitement at the project’s completion, emphasizing that the Ministry embarked on the construction through a Public-Private Agreement (PPA) with Unique Development, a privately-owned firm.

The Deputy Minister highlighted that the redevelopment of the Energy City enclave had necessitated the provision of a new, spacious office complex for the DVLA, ensuring the seamless delivery of their duties.

Detailing the features of the newly-constructed complex, Owusu-Bio emphasized its upgrade from the previous facility, designed to accommodate modernized and digital equipment essential for the DVLA’s operations.

He commended Unique Developers for their remarkable work and praised the collaborative efforts of the DVLA management in preparing the premises for occupancy.

Speaking on behalf of the DVLA, Mr. Prince Edusei Poku, the Deputy CEO in charge of operations, expressed gratitude to the Ministry for providing the organization with a fitting office space.
He assured that the facility would be utilized for its intended purpose and pledged to expedite the final works to ensure full operational readiness within a year.

The completion of the state-of-the-art office complex represents a significant investment in enhancing service delivery and operational efficiency within the DVLA.

With modern amenities and upgraded infrastructure, the DVLA in the Greater Accra Region is poised to better serve the needs of the public and contribute to the region’s overall development.
