Kojo Addae Mensah replaces Ace Ankomah on five-member GFA search committee

The Ghana Football Association has announced that the Group CEO of Databank Group Kojo Addae Mensah has replaced Legal practitioner and law lecturer Ace Ankomah (Esq.) on the five-member search committee to evaluate and recommend the next Black Stars coach to the Executive Council.
This follows the decision of Ace Ankomah to withdraw from the process due to a conflict of interest on an ongoing legal matter with the Ghana Football Association.
News broke over the weekend that Ace Ankomah had declined an appointment to help find the next Black Stars coach following the sacking of Chris Hughton in the aftermath of the disappointing AFCON campaign by the Black Stars in Ivory Coast.
Kojo Addae Mensah now joins Vice President Mark Addo, Director of Coaching Education of the GFA, Professor Joseph Kwame Mintah, Ghana football legend Opoku Nti and William Caesar Kartey, Chief Director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The search committee has three weeks to recommend the next Black Stars coach to the Executive Council for approval.
The team has set February 2 as the deadline for interested coaches to send in their CV’s.
This will be the 5th coach hired for the Black Stars in the last five years. C.K Akonnor, Milovan Rajevac, Otto Addo and Chris Hughton have all led the team at some point but have all failed to meet the lofty expectations of Ghanaians.
