John Boadu is new Ag. Director General of SIGA

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Mr. John Boadu, a former General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), as the Director General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA). The appointment is effective pending the receipt of the constitutionally required advice from the governing Board of SIGA, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.

Mr. Boadu, an accountant and data analyst, served as the National Organiser of the NPP and, in 2018, was elected as the substantive General Secretary. He is recognized as the longest-serving national officer in the history of the NPP.

He has held various positions within the party, including National Finance Officer, National Youth Treasurer, National Youth Organiser, Deputy National Communications Director, and National Organiser.

In a letter signed by Nana Bediatuo Asante, Secretary to the President, President Akufo-Addo congratulated Mr. Boadu on his appointment and requested him to indicate acceptance or otherwise within 14 days of receiving the letter.

The appointment of John Boadu to lead SIGA, a key institution overseeing state interests and governance, underscores his extensive experience and contributions to the New Patriotic Party.

Mr Boadu’s multifaceted roles within the party, coupled with his financial and analytical background, position him well for this new responsibility.

The former General Secretary’s appointment reflects the president’s confidence in his capacity to contribute to effective governance and oversight of state interests.

The SIGA plays a crucial role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the management of state-owned enterprises and institutions.

The President’s decision to appoint John Boadu to this role highlights the administration’s commitment to leveraging the expertise within its party ranks to drive national development and effective public administration.
