2023 CAF Awards: Tracey Twum nominated for Interclub Player of The Year

Ghanaian footballer Tracey Twum, a key player for Ampem Darkoa Ladies, has earned recognition on the continental stage by being shortlisted for the Inter Club Player of the Year Women Category at the upcoming 2023 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards.
Twum’s nomination comes on the back of her outstanding contributions to Ampem Darkoa’s success in the 2023 football season.
The midfielder played a pivotal role in securing victories for the team in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, the Women’s FA Cup, and the WAFU Zone B Championship held in Nigeria.
Notably, Tracey has also showcased her talent in the ongoing CAF Women’s Champions League, scoring a brace in the recent group B game against Huracanes FC.
In addition to Tracey Twum’s nomination, two other Ampem Darkoa Ladies players, Comfort Yeboah and Mary Amponsah, have been nominated for the Young Player of the Year award at the 2023 CAF Awards. The event is scheduled to take place on the 11th of December in Morocco.
Both Comfort Yeboah and Mary Amponsah played instrumental roles in Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ successful campaign during the 2022/23 season, contributing significantly to the team’s domestic double win.
They were also key figures in Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ triumph at the WAFU Zone B Champions League qualifiers, where Amponsah emerged as the top scorer after netting eight goals in the competition.
The recognition of these players on the CAF Awards shortlist reflects not only their individual excellence but also the overall success and dominance of Ampem Darkoa Ladies in both local and continental competitions.
